In support of March as National Disability Awareness Month, Student Disability Services and The Wabash Valley Independent Living and Learning Center (WILL Center) from Terre Haute, hosted The second "Taste of Technology Fair: An Integration of Assistive Technology and Community Support Services."
There were a variety of vendors present, featuring assistive technology and community support services for disabled youth and adults. A Keynote Presentation, was also delivered by Kathy Nimmer, the 2015 Teacher of the Year for the State of Indiana. Ms. Nimmer, who is blind, travels throughout Indiana to share her message of the importance of education. She strives to inspire fellow educators and students to pursue their dreams and to not allow challenges and obstacles to limit those dreams. She is also the author of an anthology about assistance dogs: "Two Plus Four Equals One.”
