Former DePauw women’s soccer coach passes away

DePauw Women’s Soccer lost a member of its family in former head coach John Carter, who passed away unexpectedly yesterday.

The official announcement came through DePauw’s athletic website.

The Tigers were 255-156-24 under Carter, who served as the program’s head coach from 1990-2014. During Carter’s tenure, the team won six conference championships along with the 2012 NCAC Conference Tournament. Carter’s 255 wins are ranked 42nd in Division III women’s soccer history.

Carter’s visitation will be on Monday, September 4th, from 2-6 p.m. at Grand Park in Westfield, according to the DePauw Athletics website.
