International applications increase 281 percent


The number of international students on DePauw's campus has increased, and officials are expecting there to be an even greater increase next year. "At this point we have 217 completed international applications, which is 281 [percent] more than we had last year at this time, but I expect that number will continue to rise in the coming weeks," said Stephanie Niles via e-mail, vice president of admission and financial aid.… Post the First Comment

Emergency notification test gets mixed results


With unpredictable, harmful incidents happening on college campuses nationwide, DePauw University has joined in the trend of alerting students of potential hazards on campus via text messaging. Biology department chair Dana Dudle said she could not believe her good fortune when she received a short, informal note inviting her to study in a country halfway around the world. Campus bikes awaiting repair, return in spring


As students rushed home for their holiday hiatus, so did the campus bikes. But unlike the students who returned to classes nearly three weeks later, the bikes are not likely to return for another month.
