The women's volleyball split four matches this weekend at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference East/Central Divisional in Arkansas.
The Tigers first swept Hendrix College 3-0 on Saturday but could not find the same rhythm in their next match as they fell 3-1 to Rhodes College.
The team was swept by Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday but finished off the weekend with a sweep of its own over Oglethorpe University 3-0.
"We are definitely at a point where we feel like we are playing well," said senior middle hitter Kim Hamer. "However, we are tired of the moral victories and really want to prove to other teams how good we are."
After going on a eight-match winning streak starting at the beginning of September, the Tigers have struggled to win only three of the last eight matches.
"Aside from the frustration, we are committed to continuing to better our team and our play," said sophomore defensive specialist Kate Carrico.
The team as a whole looks at their inconsistency within games as a key to their losses.
"We would either start off weak and give the other team a run of points or lose our fight in the end and let them run away with the win," Hamer said.
"Our serving and serve receive consistency was a determining factor in both the wins and losses," Carrico said. "When we served and passed well on a consistent basis, our game as a whole improved, leading to a victory."
With DePauw 3-4 in conference play and 13-7 overall, there are six teams ahead of the TIgers in the conference standings.
"After this weekend, we continue to see how elite our conference is and how lucky we are to be a part of such a competitive group of teams," Hamer said. "We are ready to be a team that other teams fear and want to be seen as one of the elite teams in the bunch."
