DePauw in the computer age: reviewing the Laptop Initiative
With the entire student body required to own a laptop for the first time since the adoption of DePauw Laptop Initiative, it's time to step back and assess its success, the financial burden, laptop use in the classroom and where the program is headed. Phi Delt faces investigation for minor in consumption charge
Phi Delta Theta faced a confrontation with Public Safety Saturday, April 12 over a minor in consumption, said Director of Public Safety Angela Nally.
"The officers were called by a couple of students with some concern that there was a person in the Phi Delt house that was extremely intoxicated and they thought he needed medical attention," Nally said.…

Trustee meeting emphasizes Bottoms' legacy
Last week's meeting of DePauw's board of trustees marked the end of an era, as it was the 22nd and final time the group met under the presidency of Robert G. Bottoms.
Board chairman David Hoover '67 said the meetings on Thursday and Friday included "a little bit of reminiscing and looking forward" as the trustees paid tribute to Bottoms and many met informally with incoming president Brian Casey for the first time.…

Midwest earthquake shakes campus Friday
The earthquake that woke many DePauw students on Friday morning may only be a taste of what's to come. The earthquake registered a 5.3 on the Richter scale, the standard which measures the movement of the Earth.
The earthquake was caused by the Wabash Valley fault system, a branch of the New Madrid system.…

Poetry club spreads love
Junior Jamie Conner would tell you that poetry is for everyone, even the fourth graders he taught Tuesday at Tzouanakis Elementary School. Conner, president of DePauw's Poetry Club, was impressed by the students' knowledge and enthusiasm.

Freshman Matt Rivera, as 'Krypton Flo,' has iTunes album
Freshman Matt Rivera, also known as Krypton Flo, released his first professionally recorded rap album entitled "Love Notes & Shattered Quotes" on iTunes April 9 through his personal recording label, Kloud 9.
The album features original music and lyrics centered around a universal theme of love, while also intertwining Rivera's own personal experiences with women.…
